CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — Church of the Saviour invites the Cleveland Heights community to celebrate Holy Week and Easter with a comprehensive series of worship services and special events from Palm Sunday through Easter Sunday, including traditional services and community gatherings.
Palm Sunday services will be held on March 29 at 8:30 AM, 9:30 AM, and 11:00 AM, with palms distributed at all three morning worship services to commemorate Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem.
Holy Week continues with a Maundy Thursday shared meal and worship service on April 2 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Great Hall. Good Friday will feature two special services: a Community Ecumenical Service at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church (2747 Fairmount Blvd., Cleveland Heights) from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, and a Tenebrae service at Church of the Saviour in the Great Hall at 7:00 PM.
“Christ is risen! Easter Sunday worship will be offered at 6:30 AM on the Front Lawn, at 8:30 AM in Myers Chapel, and then at 9:30 and 11:00 AM in the Great Hall. We can’t wait to welcome you,” the church announced.
Easter weekend events begin on Saturday, April 4, with a community Easter egg hunt at 10:00 AM for children from birth through Grade 5, followed by an Easter Vigil service at 9:00 PM in the Great Hall. The vigil will recount God’s saving works from the beginning of time through the resurrection of Christ, using fire and water in this first worship service of Easter.
Easter Sunday services on April 5 will be held at 6:30 AM on the front lawn, 8:30 AM in Myers Chapel, and 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM in the Great Hall. Throughout the Lenten season, the church offers Morning Prayer services every Wednesday at 8:00 AM in Myers Chapel, as well as a six-week Lenten group study on Tuesdays from February 24 through March 31.
