Voices of Note opens its 2026–27 season with distinct holiday concerts from the Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus and Atlanta Women’s Chorus.
ATLANTA, GA, UNITED STATES, September 24, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Voices of Note will open its 2026–27 season this December with holiday performances from the Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus and Atlanta Women’s Chorus, offering audiences two distinct ways to celebrate the season through live choral music. Rather than presenting a shared holiday program, the two choruses will perform in separate concerts, each shaped by its own artistic vision.
The performances continue a holiday tradition that has brought Atlanta audiences together through music while giving each ensemble room to create an experience reflective of its own sound, personality, and relationship with audiences.
The Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus will present its 46th Annual Holiday Concert at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, and at 2 and 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Cathedral of St. Philip.
“The AGMC holiday show is always full of surprises,” said Donald Milton III, artistic director of the Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus. “New arrangements of holiday favorites, emotional experiences of beauty, and you never know what costumes or puppets might show up. Over 150 voices soaring over these orchestral arrangements is going to be very special.”
Backed by a chamber orchestra, AGMC will perform holiday favorites including “Angels We Have Heard on High” and “O Holy Night,” alongside “Baba Yetu,” “There Will Be Rest,” and “Do a Little Good” from “Spirited.” The program will also feature a new medley of songs from Rankin/Bass animated holiday films, bringing together music that celebrates holiday traditions, relationships, and gatherings.
Continuing the holiday season, their sibling ensemble, the Atlanta Women’s Chorus, will present “Peace and Joy” at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at Holy Innocents Episcopal Church.
Through a mix of holiday classics, choral gems, and lighthearted selections, AWC will offer its own musical perspective on the season. The program will feature four-hand piano pieces, an audience singalong, and a celebration of the winter solstice, all presented through the ensemble’s distinctive sound.
“Holiday music carries so many different memories and emotions, and that gives us a wonderful range to explore as an ensemble,” said Dr. Melissa Arasi, artistic director of the Atlanta Women’s Chorus. “We want audiences to hear the warmth and beauty of these voices, but we also want them to experience the personality of AWC — the connection, energy, and sense of celebration that these singers bring to the stage.”
The concert offers an opportunity to focus on peace and joy amid the world’s negativity. Audiences will hear music that evokes peace, including Bing Crosby and David Bowie’s “The Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth” and Dan Forrest’s “Shalom,” alongside the joy of “Trepak” from “The Nutcracker” and “Here Comes Santa Claus,” performed in the style of Elvis Presley. The program aims to leave audiences with a renewed sense of hope for the future.
While both performances celebrate the holiday season, each program is being developed as a distinct artistic experience. The approach reflects Voices of Note’s broader commitment to allowing AGMC and AWC to maintain their individual identities while sharing an organizational home.

The holiday concerts also begin a season in which Voices of Note will move between larger chorus performances, intimate ensemble programs, and concerts exploring history, renewal, transformation, and popular music. The full season runs through June 2027.
